Newcrest Mining Gold Production Surged in Q4 FY22


The gold production in September and October totalled over 9.300 ounces and 9,910 ounces respectively, significantly higher than the planned production.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Asante Gold Corporation announced commercial production at the Bibiani Gold Mine in Ghana. The mine has recorded three months of consistent production since the first gold pour in early-July this year. The mine ramp up remains on track, the company press release noted.

The company noted that all process plant and mine facilities have been operating on a 24 hour per day basis from late June. The mine has recorded a throughput of around 220,000 tonnes in September and 206,000 tonnes in October. By the first quarter next year, Asante targets to boost the throughput to 250,000 tonnes.

The gold production in September and October totalled over 9.300 ounces and 9,910 ounces respectively, significantly higher than the planned production. It expects to ramp up the monthly gold production to approximately 20,000 ounces by early 2023. Also, the plan to extend the open pit mine life from 8.3 years to over 10 years is well on track.

Commenting on the development, Dave Anthony, President and CEO, Asante Gold Corporation noted that the company is extremely pleased with the progress that has been achieved at Bibiani. The company looks forward to increasing the value of the asset, he added.
