Miles Preps Ground Transport Mgmt. App for '22 Release

Luxembourg-based all-electric-vehicle rental car platform Ufodrive has expanded to the United States, with operations launched in San Francisco, the company announced Thursday. Ufodrive provides self-service access to a fleet of EVs through its app and offers a software-as-a-service platform for fleet management.

Hertz in February led a $19 million Series A round of investment in the company, which at the time noted plans to enter the U.S. market. The company has grown from nine European locations in February to its current 18, including London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and Dublin, according to Ufodrive.

The downtown San Francisco location will have “a full EV fleet set to be active by the end of August,” according to the company. In addition, to accelerate its North American expansion, Ufodrive has partnered with Washington, D.C.-based Inspiration Fleet, an EV-only fleet management company.
