Miles Preps Ground Transport Mgmt. App for '22 Release

Latam will eliminate its single-use plastics by 2023, the Santiago,
Chile-based carrier announced last week.

Beginning June 1, international flights started to use
reusable bags to cover the rest items in Premium Business cabins. The carrier
introduced new “eco kits” for that class as well in February. Changes
in the Economy cabin will begin “in the coming weeks” and include
glasses, cutlery and tableware being replaced with reusable and/or recyclable
materials, and bags for blankets and rest items are “gradually being
replaced,” according to the airline.

Latam estimates that the changes will eliminate more than
1,000 tons of single-use plastics, or the equivalent of 36,000 500 ml plastic
bottles, according to the carrier.
