Interact Remotely Through These Humanoid Robots' As If You're Physically Present - Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)

Researchers have developed a humanoid robot-based new telepresence technology that enables users to virtually explore remote environments and communicate with individuals in those environments.

What Happened: Researchers from Hanyang and Duksung Women’s University in South Korea have developed a telepresence system based on a humanoid robot, according to TechXplore.

The telepresence system can enable individuals to take complete ownership of a humanoid robot’s body, access remote environments and interact with people and objects there as if they were physically present there.

Telepresence, also known as virtual presence, enables a person to be present at a remote location from the confines of their homes using sound, vision and touch, according to Springer.com.

This telepresence system, which was introduced in a paper published in the International Journal of Social Robotics, includes a head-mounted display, a motion transporter, a voice transporter and a vision transporter.

With the help of this system, human users would be able to fully embody a humanoid robot at a remote location and use its body to move around and communicate with others in it.

Why It’s Important: The humanoid robot market is poised to grow by USD 9.74 billion from 2021 to 2026 offering exceptional opportunities.

In September, Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) said that its flagship humanoid prototype, Optimus, might soon be able to solve problems on its own. The company also plans to have thousands of human-shaped robots to work in factories
