Miles Preps Ground Transport Mgmt. App for '22 Release

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration has added a gender marker option for nonbinary and gender nonconforming applicants to its PreCheck program, the agency announced.

The new option “reaffirms our commitment to equality and inclusion for all people, including the LGBTQI Plus community,” TSA administrator David Pekoske said in a statement. Since April, TSA has allowed PreCheck applicants to select their gender regardless of the sex assigned at birth, and travelers can enroll in PreCheck even if their gender has not been updated on other identification documents. Current PreCheck members can call the TSA at (855) 347-8371 if they wish to update their gender marker in the program.

The change brings the TSA in line with the U.S. State Department, which added a third gender option for passport applicants in April and also allows applicants to self-select their gender even if it differs from their other identification documents.
