SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The British Telecom (BT) announced that it has partnered with Cicso to launch a new programme aimed at reducing electronic waste with business customers. By ensuring proper and sustainable recycling of end-of-life electronic devices, the partnership promises to help its customers achieve their circular economy goals. The alliance is part of BT Group Manifesto- a plan that focuses on accelerating sustainable e-waste recycling efforts over the next decade.

The transformation to multi-cloud technology will result in widespread replacement and decommissioning of electronic equipment in network structure of big businesses. The programme intends to collect such devices and shipped to Cisco, where they will be responsibly recycled or reused.

As a first step, the programme will be implemented in the UK, US, Italy, Ireland, Switzerland and Singapore with the help of Cisco-certified environmental specialists. More countries will be added to the programme by the end of the current year.

Hriday Ravindranath, chief product & digital officer at BT’s Global unit noted that the partnership with Cisco builds on its leadership in sustainability and will help deliver on our BT Group Manifesto commitments.
