SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Saint Helier, Jersey-headquartered Caledonia Mining Corporation Plc. announced record quarterly gold production from Blanket Mine, Zimbabwe in Q2 this year.

For the three-month period ended September 30, 2022, the gold output from the mine totalled 21,120 ounces. This is significantly higher by 11%, when matched with the production of 18,965 ounces in the corresponding quarter a year before. Meantime the year-to-date cumulative gold production amounted to 59,726 ounces, higher by 22% from 48,872 ounces produced in January to September in 2021.

Also, the company reiterated that the full year 2022 gold production is expected to remain at the top end of the previously announced guidance of between 73,000 ounces and 80,000 ounces.

Commenting on achieving record quarterly output, Dana Roets, Chief Operating Officer said that the company is delighted to have set a new production record at the Blanket mine. It has achieved quarterly target ounces for the past three quarters. Caledonia Mining is committed to completing the Bilboes transaction and restart of oxide operations, hoping it to return to profit during the second quarter of 2023, he added.

The Blanket mine is located in the south-west of Zimbabwe approximately 15 km west of Gwanda in the province of Matabeleland South.
