SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based steelmaker United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) announced publication of the company’s first-ever Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Report. The report highlights the progress and ongoing commitment to support diverse, equitable and inclusive workplaces.

The DE&I report highlights the launch of talent communities, introduction of various employee benefit programs including Emergency Dependent Backup Care and Online Tutoring, creation of a People Analytics Diversity Suite, deployment of unconscious bias training and running of disability inclusion program in partnership with Disability:IN, the company press release noted.

Barry Melnkovic, U. S. Steel’s Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer noted that the company has made important, measurable progress in its Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion strategy execution in alignment with its core values. The report is part of its journey to foster a true ‘Culture of Caring’ with workplaces. U.S. Steel has the potential to do more and be better, he added.

The report also focuses on significant progress made by the company through recognition earned by leading third-party organizations.
