SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Sims Limited announced that it has been named as one of America’s Most Responsible Companies by Newsweek, in recognition of its commitment to corporate social responsibility. This is the third consecutive year that the company has won the top recognition.

The company achieved 21% reduction in carbon emissions in fiscal year 2022, as compared with FY20 levels. Also, 37% of its electricity requirements were sourced from renewable sources. Sims Limited achieved the target of having 25% of women in leadership roles, two years ahead of schedule. Also, it recorded the lowest recordable injury frequency rate in its history in FY22.

The company was selected from among 2,000 companies spread across 14 different industries. The selection was based on ESG key performance indicators, sustainability reports, and an independent survey among American citizens.

Commenting on the achievement, Alistair Field, managing director and chief operating officer of Sims Limited noted that the company made strong progress against its sustainability commitments. The company’s operations thrive to create a world without waste. The company’s entire business model is based in sustainability, he added.
