ArcelorMittal Launched Trial Use of Low-Carbon Steel in Auto Parts


The steel deliveries during the quarter surged higher by 7% over the previous year to total 4.73 million tonnes.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Leading Indian steelmaker, Tata Steel Limited, announced strong production figures for the three-month period ending December 2022.

In its latest filing to the exchanges, the steelmaker noted that its India crude steel production totaled around 5 million tonnes during the quarter, which was up by nearly 4% from the sequential as well as the prior-year quarter.

The steel deliveries during the quarter surged higher by 7% over the previous year to total 4.73 million tonnes. The domestic deliveries registered year-on-year growth of 11%. The automotive & special products’ segment deliveries amounted to 2 million tonnes, up by 7% over the prior year quarter. The Branded Products & Retail segment deliveries surged higher by 13% year-on-year during the quarter. Meantime, the Industrial Products & Projects’ segment deliveries were up by 15% year-on-year.

The steel deliveries by Tata Steel Europe totaled 1.96 million tonnes, higher by 5% on a sequential basis. The Tata Steel Europe production declined both on a sequential and year-on-year basis.

The cumulative steel production edged higher by 4% year-on-year during the initial nine-month period. The net steel deliveries were up by 4%. Meantime, the domestic steel deliveries increased by 10% over the year.
