ArcelorMittal Launched Trial Use of Low-Carbon Steel in Auto Parts

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Leading Indian steelmaker, Tata Steel Limited, has been recognized as a “GOLD” employer by India Workplace Equality Index (IWEI) 2022. This is the second consecutive year that the company has received the honour. The company scored 75 out of a maximum of 100 in the IWEI 2022. It is one of the few manufacturing companies and the only steel manufacturer to achieve the highest ranking.

The honour comes in recognition of the company’s efforts in successfully incorporating LGBT+ inclusion in their policies, hiring practices and external communication. The company, through its policy actions, has demonstrated long-term and in-depth commitment towards LGBT+ inclusion. Jaya Singh Panda, Chief Diversity Officer, Tata Steel received the award on behalf of the company.

This is the second year in a row that the company has been named as a “GOLD” employer. Earlier in 2021, the company had received “Global” employer recognition. In 2020, when the awards were instituted for the first time, the company had received “Silver” employee recognition.

Commenting on the achievement, Atrayee Sanyal, Vice President, HRM, Tata Steel said that it is honoured to receive the “GOLD” employer recognition for the second year in a row. Incidentally, the company aims to achieve 25% diversity by 2025.
